Akron Summer Safety Town
Instructions for Parents:
Without completion of all four forms your child WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO ATTEND. Please complete any outstanding forms.
IT IS IMPORTANT TO BRING YOUR CHILD TO SAFETY TOWN EVERY DAY.
We teach different kinds of safety on different days: police, fire, dog, playground, bicycle, pedestrian, strangers, poison, gun, bus, health and more.
We want your child to learn about all of these!
Arrival:
Essex Elementary - 1160 Winhurst Dr, Akron, OH 44313
Tuesday of your chosen week: 8:30 am
Please have all forms completed prior to arrival, your child will not be allowed to attend without these forms.
They will receive a t-shirt of their group's color and a name tag.
These will be worn over their regular shirt and taken off after Safety Town each day.
We will keep them at Safety Town for the next day.
Wednesday-Friday of your chosen week: 8:45 am. There will be class/group tables in the gym and you will take your child to their color designated group table.
We would like your child to state their full name when they check in each day (it is important for them to learn to give their name in case of an emergency).
Pick-up:
Please pick up your child at 11:45 am.
Each day, you--or the person picking up your child--will need to show picture ID to your child's color group leader when picking up. Anyone picking your child up needs to be listed on their profile with first and last name.
We will line up the pick-up lines by COLOR GROUPS; please look for your child's color.
Each day your child will bring home a paper talking about what they learned that day.
On Friday, there will be a short graduation program at 11:30 (parents and relatives are welcome), and your child will take home their t-shirt, bag, and bicycle helmet!

Akron Summer Safety Town is...~Open to children who reside in the City of Akron and are entering kindergarten or first grade in the fall of 2023.
~Free - There is no charge. ~Each weekly session runs Tuesday through Friday, 9:00am - 11:45 a.m. ~Children may attend only one weekly session. |
